Common questions about mobile dental hygiene care

We are dedicated to increasing community access to preventive oral health care by bringing comfortable, professional services right to your doorstep. Here are answers to the questions our clients ask most often.

What is an independent dental hygiene practice?

In 2006, dental hygienists in Alberta were granted the ability to work independently of a dentist. Licensed Registered Dental Hygienists can operate their own independent practice or bring preventive services directly into a client's environment. The core purpose of this model is to substantially increase community access to vital dental hygiene care.

Do you collaborate with dentists if I require restorative work?

Yes. ADHS collaborates actively with dentists as well as other healthcare professionals to ensure effective, comprehensive, and continuous care. If you require treatment beyond our scope of practice, we are pleased to refer you to a reputable dentist or specialized healthcare professional suited to your individual needs.

How much do your dental hygiene services cost?

ADHS provides mobile dental hygiene services at a  reasonable cost. Many of our treatment fees are set at or below the suggested fee guides to help eliminate financial barriers to receiving regular care. For an estimate of fees, please reach out to us directly.

What sterilization and infection control standards do you follow?

Dental instruments are classified as critical devices. We strictly adhere to all infection prevention and control standards established by Alberta Health Services (AHS) and the Alberta College of Dental Hygienists. This includes biological spore tests performed daily, detailed record keeping, and rigorous protocols designed for your safety and wellness.

Who benefits most from mobile dental hygiene visits?

Our mobile setup is ideal for seniors, residents in supportive living or long-term care facilities, individuals with mobility restrictions, anxious dental patients, and busy families who prefer receiving preventive care in the comfort and familiarity of their own familiar setting in Calgary and area.

How do I prepare for your visit to my home or care centre?

We bring portable equipment and protective supplies right to your location. We need a standard electrical outlet, about 8x10 feet of cleared space with a preferable hard surface and bathroom to clean up.

Is there a charge for mobile service?

Just $35 for a mobile visit within Calgary and area (Okotoks, Chestermere, Airdrie, Cochrane, Langdon, Bragg Creek)

Do you direct bill to insurance and benefits?
